What Does Real Impact Mean?

Beyond Buzzwords

From Promises to Proof

For us, impact is no smooth talk, but based on evidence. Every tree we plant, raises questions we take seriously:

– How much CO₂ will this tree really sequester?
– How long will it survive?
– What changes will it bring to the lives of rural communities?

Since 2023, we’ve been working towards a formal certification process, aligned with internationally recognised standards such as VERRA Standard. By the end of 2025, we expect our first verified carbon credits. These are not self-declared claims, but third-party validated reforestation outcomes that hold us accountable to real-world outcomes.

Climate Action That Includes People

Our work is rooted in more than reforestation. In Senegal and Namibia, we actively invest in communities through:

– Food forests, school gardens, and access to water
– Fair employment and long-term stewardship
– Women-led initiatives and youth involvement

Our projects directly support the fight against migration by addressing its root causes: environmental degradation and dwindling livelihood opportunities.

By restoring degraded land and creating new livelihoods, we help make rural life viable again, especially for young people. Instead of leaving their homes in search of uncertain futures, they gain the tools to build a better life right where they are.

We believe impact is only meaningful if it lasts and if it’s felt by the people who live there, long after our role fades into the background.

Powered by Data, Not Assumptions

Together with academic partners like KU Leuven, we are developing smart monitoring systems to track what is happening on the ground, even from a distance.

Our tools include:
– AI-powered tree counts and growth tracking
– Satellite-based ecosystem monitoring
– Soil health, biodiversity, and social KPIs

Data monitoring and reporting is not a side activity. It’s the foundation of our credibility and soon, of our certified carbon credits.

Certification by 2025: A Turning Point

We are on track. By the end of 2025, we aim to deliver our first fully certified climate and social impact results. Not because certification is the end goal, but because it is a springboard to sustainable reforestation.

It will give Lignaverda the credibility to scale further, while staying true to what matters most: integrity, transparency, and long-term impact.

In a world often distracted by slogans, we choose results. Because real impact is not claimed, it is earned!
