A year ago, I had the opportunity to start my role as Country Manager of Lignaverda in Senegal, an experience that has been both challenging and enriching. Taking on this position, I immersed myself in a dynamic country rich in cultural diversity.
Over the past year, I have had the privilege of working alongside talented and passionate teams, overcoming the operational and strategic challenges unique to the Senegalese context, and, most importantly, contributing to the development and growth of Lignaverda in this flourishing region.
Each day has been a lesson, each success a source of motivation, and each obstacle an opportunity for learning. As Country Manager, I have understood the importance of adaptability, active listening, and collaboration in carrying out ambitious projects and fostering a positive dynamic within the team. This has allowed us to meet the major challenge of reforesting 2,500 hectares over the past year.
The impact of Lignaverda’s activities on local populations has been truly remarkable. The projects we have undertaken have had significant effects on the surrounding communities, and seeing firsthand how our actions have positively influenced the lives of the local inhabitants has been a source of motivation and pride for the entire team.
The growing awareness of climate change on a global scale is a major issue that concerns us all. As Country Manager of Lignaverda, being part of the committed actors in the fight against this scourge is a great source of satisfaction for me, allowing me to contribute meaningfully to the community.
Holding this key role within Lignaverda and actively participating in efforts to counter the devastating effects of climate change is a responsibility I carry with pride. Every action we undertake as an NPO and as individuals matters in the preservation of our planet and in building a more sustainable future.
This first year as Country Manager of Lignaverda in Senegal has been marked by exciting challenges, rewarding achievements, and a deep immersion in a unique professional and human environment. I am grateful for this opportunity, which has allowed me to grow both professionally and personally, and I look forward to continuing to contribute to Lignaverda’s success in the months and years to come.
